Terms of guarantee for CarTrek navigation system, a product that will give you much convenience and pleasure. To avoid any future inconvenience we recommend that you first read all the documentation on this product before you start using the navigation system. This will avoid you making an unnecessary call on the guarantee regulations.

Limited terms of guarantee

1. You may use the navigation system only if you have read all the accompanying documentation, such as directions for use. This also applies to the hardware and software.
2. Before you start using the navigation system you should first check whether all the components are present. For this, consult the direction for use. If this is not the case, first contact the service centre.
3. The guarantee period begins as soon as you purchase the system and lasts for a maximum of 2 years. The purchase date on the till receipt or invoice (stating name of dealer and product) is decisive for this and serves as proof.
4. It is possible that faults may occur in the software or hardware as a result of usage. In this case CarTrek cannot guarantee that the hardware or software will work with faults.
5. CarTrek guarantees that the navigation system is free of faults in the hardware and implementation. In the guarantee period the hardware will be repaired or replaced, by choice of CarTrek, under the here-mentioned conditions. You will not be charged for labour or materials. The guarantee on repairs is 6 months.
6. All replaced parts become the property of CarTrek.

Terms

1. This guarantee is not transferable to third person.
2. This guarantee does not cover transport costs or risks connected with transport.
3. This guarantee does not apply to:
   • normal wear and tear
   • damage or defects caused by usage, operation or handling which do not accord with normal usage by consumers.
   • repairs or replacements carried out by anyone not qualified as competent by CarTrek.
   • damage or changes to hardware or software by incorrect use, not following instructions for hardware or software, incorrect application, accidents, fire, fluids, excessive heat, inadequate ventilation, voltage peaks, over-high or incorrect power supply, input voltage, radiation or lightning.
   • negligence
   • use of other accessories and peripheral equipment of other products or which do not belong to the system.
   • self-applied modifications to the product to make it comply with national or local common or technical safety standards.
   • physical damage to the hardware casing (e.g. scratches)
4. If for any reason whatsoever one or more guarantee clauses lapse, are declared invalid or prove to be impracticable, the other clauses remain in force. Disputes shall then be interpreted in the light of the remaining conditions.
5. In order to make a claim on the guarantee you must send the navigation system well packed, together with a copy of the proof of purchase and with adequate prepaid postage.
   Apart from in the case of repair or replacement, compensation by CarTrek or its suppliers shall never be greater that your purchase amount. Even in the event that in some countries the liability/compensation cannot be limited to the purchase amount CarTrek shall in all cases never pay in compensation more than the price that was paid for the product.
6. CarTrek and its suppliers are in no way whatsoever liable for direct, indirect or subsequent damage, loss of profit or income.
7. CarTrek cannot give any guarantees relating to the quality, performance, accuracy, reliability or suitability for a specific purpose or any other capacity of the hardware or software which belongs thereto or forms part thereof.

Guarantee disclaimer.

This limited guarantee as described above is the only official guarantee offered to you by CarTrek. Anything else offered to you, for example in advertisements, on packaging, leaflets or other means of communication by third persons is not applicable.
